Lead statuses¶
Lead statuses are the qualification labels your team applies to a lead. Each one carries a type that tells Yukon what the label means, so qualification, conversion, and reporting stay consistent no matter how the label is worded.
You need the lead status administration permission. If Administration or the Lead statuses card is absent, ask a CRM administrator.
Decide the type before the name¶
| Type | What it means |
|---|---|
| Open | The lead is still in active qualification. |
| Qualified | Qualification is complete and the lead is waiting to be converted. |
| Converted | Reserved for the conversion workflow that creates trusted CRM records. |
| Closed | The lead leaves the working queue without being converted. |
Several open labels are fine. Nurture, Awaiting budget, and Trying to reach can all be Open, because each describes a lead someone is still working. What matters is that a colleague can recognize the state from the record, and that the type underneath is honest.
Add or change a status¶
- Open Administration → Lead statuses.
- Choose New status, or open a status's actions and choose Edit.
- Enter the Status name.
- Choose the Status type. The editor shows what the selected type means.
- Pick a Display color so the label is recognizable in lists.
- Save.
Renaming a status updates the leads already using it, so a rename is the safe way to correct wording. Changing a status's type changes what the label means for every lead currently sitting on it — treat that as a process decision, not an edit.
Put the list in working order¶
Use the up and down arrows to move a status. The position shown on each row is the order your team sees when choosing a status, so lead the list with the labels people pick most often.
Retire a status¶
- Move the remaining leads onto the status that replaces it.
- Open the status's actions and choose Delete.
- Confirm.
Yukon stops the deletion when the status is still in use, or when it is the last status required for qualification or conversion. That refusal is a safeguard, not a bug — clear the status first, then delete it.
Warning
Do not repurpose a status that already carries history. Reusing an old label for a new meaning rewrites what past qualification decisions appear to say, and Qualification history will report a story your team never lived.
