Work with leads¶
Use Leads for a person or business that still needs to be qualified. A lead can later become a contact and, when appropriate, an organization and opportunity.
Triage the list¶
Start with the Open, Closed, or All view. Filters, saved views, sorting, and selectable columns help narrow a large list. Use global search when you need to find a lead by name or other indexed terms.
Enable Converted leads when you need those records. Yukon moves the list to All while that toggle is active.
Open a lead to review its details and related activity before deciding what to do next.
Qualify a lead¶
The lead workspace can show qualification status, score, source, owner, and qualification notes. Use Qualification history to understand how the lead moved through your workspace's statuses and how long it remained in each one.
Use Add note for useful context and schedule an activity when the next step needs an owner or date. Enrich can appear when a lead captured from email still needs profile details.
Convert a qualified lead¶
- Open the lead.
- Choose the conversion action.
- Review the matching behavior shown in the dialog. Yukon matches an existing contact by email. When the lead has an organization name, Yukon matches it by exact name or creates the needed organization.
- Decide whether to create an opportunity.
- Confirm the conversion, then review the resulting record links.
Conversion also checks access to the records it will use. You need permission to create or update the resulting contact, create an organization when the lead names one, and create an opportunity when you select that option. Ask an administrator to review your access if the conversion is refused.
Yukon moves the lead's existing communications, work, and files into the resulting contact context without creating duplicate activity.
After conversion, the lead becomes read-only. Its audit retains qualification and conversion evidence, while the resulting contact becomes the home for email, notes, tasks, activities, and documents.
Tip
Resolve obvious duplicates before conversion. A consistent email address and organization name make matching safer.
