Opportunities and pipelines

An opportunity represents qualified work with a defined sales outcome. The Pipeline groups opportunities by stage so the team can see both movement and value.

Review a pipeline

  1. Open Pipeline.
  2. Choose the relevant pipeline when your workspace has more than one.
  3. Select My pipeline or Everyone, subject to your access.
  4. Apply a saved view when you need a different working set.

On an unfiltered board, stage headings can show aggregate count, value, and weighted value. When the board is filtered, treat its displayed card count as the currently loaded matches rather than a complete aggregate. Open Card fields on the Pipeline to choose which approved facts you need on your cards.

Move an opportunity

Drag a card into the new stage, or update the stage from the opportunity when a drag interaction is not practical. Use the stage that reflects the work's actual state, not the next action you hope will happen.

Open the opportunity to review its contact, organization, activities, history, and other available context before making a material change.

Work inside an opportunity

  • Activities contains the deal's calls, meetings, and to-dos. Choose Schedule to add the next step and switch between the available activity views.
  • History shows stage changes, time spent in a stage, who made the change, and email linked to the opportunity.
  • Details shows the amount, probability, stage, pipeline, expected close, owner, primary contact, next action, and other available deal facts.

A Rotten indicator means the opportunity has remained in its stage beyond the workspace's configured expectation. Review the record and either advance it, schedule the next action, or close it with the correct outcome.

Record the outcome

Open the opportunity and choose Won when the work succeeds. Choose Lost when it does not; select a configured lost reason and add useful notes when needed. If no suitable lost reason exists, ask an administrator to update the workspace vocabulary before closing the opportunity.

Note

Pipelines, stages, and required fields are workspace configuration. If a stage is missing or an opportunity cannot move, ask an administrator to review the configuration and your permissions.

Use My Inbox and email to link a conversation directly to an opportunity, and dashboards and reports to monitor pipeline results.
