Set up Outreach¶
Outreach sends campaign email to an audience built from your CRM records. Setting it up is two decisions: whether the workspace sees Outreach at all, and which provider delivers the mail.
You need workspace administration permission for the module switch, and Outreach management permission for the delivery settings. Where you can open Outreach but its Settings controls are read-only, someone else holds that permission.
Show Outreach in the workspace¶
- Open Administration → Outreach.
- Turn on Show Outreach in this workspace.
- Save.
Turning the module off later hides Outreach from navigation but keeps campaigns, audiences, consent records, and delivery history intact. It is a visibility switch, not a delete.
Choose a delivery provider¶
Open Outreach → Settings. The workspace has five sections — Campaigns, Templates, Topics, Suppressions, and Settings.
- Turn on Enable outreach for this workspace.
- Choose the Delivery provider: Yukon Send or Mailchimp.
- Choose the Default company recipients: Primary contacts only or All company contacts.
- Choose Save settings.
Default company recipients decides who a campaign reaches when its audience is built from organizations. Primary contacts only sends one message per account; All company contacts reaches everyone filed under it. Campaign authors see the resulting count before they send, but this default is what most campaigns will inherit.
Note
Yukon Send powers campaign and system email from a verified company domain. Personal mailbox email stays separate — configuring Outreach does not change how anyone's own mail is sent.
Configure Yukon Send¶
The panel tracks four steps: Plan, Sender, DNS, and Ready.
- Choose a monthly plan. The selection is added to the organization's Yukon bill.
- Set the sender. Enter the Sender email, Reply-to email, and Sender domain. Optionally set a Branded link subdomain.
- Publish the DNS records. The panel lists each record's type, host, and value for whoever manages your domain.
- Activate Yukon Send, then use Check sender and DNS until the domain verifies.
Under engagement tracking, decide whether to track link clicks and whether to track opens. Open tracking is privacy-sensitive; turn it on only if your organization is comfortable defending it.
The panel also reports monthly volume used against your allowance. Check it before a large send rather than after a campaign stalls.
SMS¶
Where SMS is available, its setup sits with Yukon Send: a dedicated number, registration status, and a credit balance you top up by buying a credit package. Like sender configuration, it is administrator-controlled.
Configure Mailchimp instead¶
In Mailchimp mode, Yukon synchronizes audiences and campaign creation stays in Mailchimp. Tell your campaign authors this before you switch, because the Campaigns section will not build sends for them.
- Set the Mailchimp server prefix (for example
us21) and the Mailchimp audience ID. - Confirm the API key reports as configured.
- Map each Yukon contact tag to its Mailchimp tag, then choose Add mapping.
- Choose Sync contacts and review the result under recent syncs.
Before you hand it to the team¶
- Confirm who may manage Topics, the subscription choices recipients get.
- Review Suppressions so an address that must never be mailed is already listed.
- Send a real campaign to an internal audience and read it on a phone.
Warning
A verified domain proves the mail is yours; it does not make a list lawful. Agree with your organization on where audience consent comes from before the first external send.
